Coach Hymel currently holds an Advanced National Diploma and Goalkeeping Level 2 diploma from the United Soccer Coaches organization in addition to his National 'C' license through the US Soccer Federation.  Hymel has been coaching at NYSA now for the last 5 years and he is currently the lead coach of the Celtic 05 and 06 girls' age groups while being an assistant to the Oklahoma Baptist University women's program.

As assistant coach at OBU the last 6 seasons, his teams have won two conference championships, an NCCAA national runner up in 2016, one trip to NAIA nationals, and three 15 win seasons.  He has assisted in coaching three All-Americans, two Academic All-Americans, and numerous all conference and all region honorees. 


Prior to coaching at Oklahoma Baptist, Hymel coached at Carl Albert High School for seven seasons, where he was an All-State Coach with five district championships, four state regional championships, and four runner-up appearances in the State Finals. In addition, his teams had one Academic State Championship, one Academic Runner-Up finish, and produced numerous All-State players and eventual college athletes.  


Hymel graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1997, earning a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Currently, he is pursuing his Master's of Education in Sports Administration from East Central University and will be graduating Spring of '18.  Hymel, who is a member of LifeChurch in Midwest City, enjoys storm chasing, bass fishing and snow skiing when he has time.
