Oklahoma Celtic Joins Girl’s Elite Clubs National League for 2018-19


Oklahoma Celtic is pleased to announce its acceptance into the Girl’s Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), a nationwide league dedicated to developing elite female soccer players through innovative, player-centered programming and to enhancing the overall experience by creating a better, more enjoyable, and more successful player, coach, and club development model.

“Oklahoma Celtic is ecstatic to join the Girls ECNL,” said Don Rother, Oklahoma Celtic Director of Coaching.  “We believe ECNL is the highest, most professional soccer platform for female players.  We are excited for the developmental opportunity it presents for our players and look forward to collaborating with other ECNL clubs.”

Michael Cagle has been appointed as the Director of ECNL for Oklahoma Celtic.  Coach Cagle will oversee all aspects of Oklahoma Celtic's ECNL program – players, coaches, curriculum, and operations.

"We are proud to be associated with clubs that are striving for similar goals, providing quality platform that challenges the players, coaches and club to create an authentic competitive environment."

Oklahoma Celtic's ECNL teams will be formed via Player ID sessions  May 9, 16, 20, 22, 23 to compete in the fall 2018-spring 2019 season in the Texas Conference.  A team will be formed in each of the following age groups: U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, and U18/U19.  In addition to league play, Celtic ECNL teams will compete in ECNL National Events, which attract a large audience of college coaches.

Updated:  A town hall meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 9, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Journey Church - 3801 Journey Parkway, Norman, OK to provide information about our Girls ECNL Program, and to address questions from the audience. The meeting is open to all interested parties.

Oklahoma Celtic will continue to field Competitive teams that compete in the Red River National Premier League (NPL) and Oklahoma Premier Clubs (OPC) leagues.

About the Elite Clubs National League

MISSION:The Elite Clubs National League, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit member-based organization founded in 2009 with the mission to improve the daily environment of elite female youth soccer players in the United States.  In executing this mission, the league has created the top female youth club competition in the world, player identification and development programs across the country, player health, education and performance platforms online and at ECNL events nationally, and club development and coaching education programs with experts from around the globe.  In nearly 10 years of existence the ECNL has become the top youth female youth development platform in the world, the most heavily scouted platform for college soccer, and players developed by ECNL clubs now constitute 80-90% of the total US Soccer Youth National Team player pool.

GOAL: The goal of the Elite Club National League is to change the landscape for elite female soccer players in the United States through innovative, player-centered programming and to enhance the overall experience by creating a better, more enjoyable, and more successful player, coach, and club development model.

IMPLEMENTATION: The ECNL is led by a Board of Directors elected by the member clubs.  Day-to-day operations are managed by the ECNL Commissioner.  The ECNL has four primary platforms:

  1. The Competition Platform;

  2. The Player Identification Platform;

  3. The Club and Coach Development Platform, and

  4. The H.E.R. Platform (a female-specific “Health & Education Resources” Platform).
