Referee Information and Contact

The referee assignor for NYSA complex is Bill Pevarnik wpevarnik@att.net

All referees will be paid through the refpay system.  YOU MUST set up an account in order to be paid-we will not cut physical checks for referees.  All referees should track their games accepted/worked with arbiter and when receiving their pay match games to ensure they are paid in full.  REFEREES have one week after payroll to report any unpaid games to the office of NYSA.  Games not reported to the office will not be paid ex: I worked two months ago covering X game and I was not paid.

NYSA will be conducting a beginner referee course starting August 2nd. Anyone wishing to become a referee will need to follow the following instructions:

To become a referee in Oklahoma, you must first attend a 09 Recreational Referee course.

Requirement: there is no age requirement to attend the 09 course, but it is recommended that the candidate be at least eleven years of age. The class is nine hours in length and a 50 question multiple choice, true/false test will be given at the completion of the course. The candidate must pass the test with a 75% score. 09 referees may officiate matches from U6 to U14 recreational.

Cost = $65.00 payable at the first session. ($60 for course/$5 in processing fees)

The Class is for 3 sessions and you MUST attend all 3.

Once a referee has attended an 09 Recreational Referee class, he/she may attend an 08 class.

Requirement: there is no age requirement to attend the 08 course, but it is recommended that the candidate be at least fourteen years of age. The class is twelve hours in length and a 100 question multiple choice, true/false test will be given at the completion of the course. The candidate must pass the text with a score of 75 or better. 08 referees may officate all youth and adult matches in the state.

Cost = $60.00 payable at the first session, unless the candidate has taken the 09 class during the current registration year. The candidate’s Coursebook should have the upcoming registration year on the cover to allow the reduced cost. The cost for that candidate is $40.

All referees must attend a recertification class every fall to allow them to register for the following year. Referee registration is from January 1 to December 31. Registration closes June 1 of each year.

Recertification for the next year’s registration begins in August of each year and runs through April.
