Coach Bio
Ryan Trudgian (Director) Originally from Cornwall, England, Ryan spent 6 years with Plymouth Argyle FC before coming to America on a soccer scholarship at Oklahoma City University. His honors at OCU included being All-American, All-Conference, SAC Offensive Player of the Year and amounting over 50 goals in his college career. Ryan has coached at the PDL, College, ODP, High School, and Club level. Ryan holds the Premier Diploma License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA highest distinction from this organization), "A" License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF highest distinction from this organization), Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma NSCAA, and the National Goalkeeping License from USSF. He obtained his Director of Coaching Diploma from the NSCAA and his National Youth License from USYS. He was Oklahoma Soccer Association's Competitive Boy's Coach of the Year in 2013.
Andy Fitzpatrick (GK) Originally from Kansas City, Missouri. Attended Oklahoma City University for three years. Honors include All-American, All- Conference, Goalkeeper and Newcomer of the Year. Played six years PDL and one year practice squad of MLS Sporting KC. Eight years high school coaching experience. NOKC Futbol Club goalkeeper coach kids 12 and under.
Jason Miller (GK) Club Soccer: Legends Soccer Club and other clubs around the metro area. High School Soccer: 4 years goalkeeper at Midwest City High School. College Soccer: Oklahoma Christian University. Holds USSF National C and National Goalkeeping License. Coached at Midwest City Soccer Club, trains various goalkeepers at NYSA and surrounding clubs and currently coaching at CVFC.
Anthony Yousey 4 year letterman from Choctaw High School played 2 years NAIA at St. Grogory's and 2 years at NCAA DII SWOSU where he was team captain. He also played 6 years in USISL professional indoor league. He has his USSF A license. He has been a NYSA staff coach since 2004 and the men's head coach at OBU since 2013.
Brea Davis Played soccer for 12 years at 3 different clubs in Oklahoma. I'm a 2x High School State runner up with Carl Albert (5A) and 2x State Presidents Cup Champion with Fury 98. Awarded Offensive Player of the year at Carl Albert 3 years in a row and helped coach last year at the Striker Keeper Camp.
Sam Taylor Originally from Nottingham, England. In England worked with professional clubs Notts County FC and Nottingham Foorest FC as a teenager. Moved to Oklahoma on a soccer scholarship and attended Southwestern Christian University. Currently the Head Women's Coach at Southwestern Christian University. Holds USSF D License.
Parker Lawter (GK) Parker has played soccer at NYSA since he was very young and currently plays for Celtic 99 and Norman High School. He has played in goal since age 10 and has received training from multiple professional players and coaches. Parker is very excited to gain experience coaching the goalkeepers at this year’s camp!
Matthew Yeoman Originally from York, England. Played Soccer for the past 15 years. Played for Manchester City aged 14-18. After this Matt moved to Oklahoma and played 4 years for Southwestern Christian University on a soccer scholarship. Won All american awards freshman and sophomore year. Started coaching at the age of 16 for Manchester City academy teams U’8s and 9’s. Currently the Boys head coach at Deer Creek Middle school. Head coach for NYSA 06 girls and 03 boy’s teams. Run private sessions year round. Currently hold USSF E License.
Ashlyn Hanlon (GK) Played soccer for 13 years under many experienced coaches in Oklahoma. Ashlyn is a 2x High School State runners up (5A) with Carl Albert and a 2x State Presidents Cup Champion, playing with Fury 98. Ash has trained with Graeme Able – the U.S. Women's National Team GK coach and Ray Clark – the current GK with the OKC Energy professional team. She has been awarded Best Save at the Striker/Keeper Camp in 2014, and MVP GK for Carl Albert High School. Last year she had the opportunity to coach at the Striker Keeper Camp, as one of the keeper coaches, and is excited to back again this year!
Trevor Laffoon Originally from Norman, Oklahoma. Played club soccer at NYSA under Don Rother and Norman North High School under Geo Claros. Played in college for Oral Roberts. Started 72 consecutive games at ORU and holds school record for career minutes played and consecutive starts. Coaches at NYSA for Celtic 05, 07 and Fury 07. Holds USSF “D” License.
Ciara Mitchell Originally from Midwest City, Oklahoma, Cici lettered all four years at Carl Albert High School and was awarded MVP 3 of 4 years. Attended Mid America Christian University where she earned All-Conference, All American, and made the All-Tournament team at nationals where they placed third. Cici personal train’s players and has coached camps for numerous universities.
Sade Boswell Current assistant coach at Rose State College. Sade played two years at Neosho County Community College in Kansas and her last two years at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. After graduating, Sade moved to South Dakota where she was the graduate assistant coach for University of Sioux Falls. In addition, Sade helped with Dakota Alliance Soccer Club’s youth soccer program which consisted of 4 to 8 year olds. She holds USSF E license.
Khalil Benalioulhaj Khalil is a native of Norman, OK where he grew up playing for Celtic and Norman North High School. Khalil split his college soccer career between Hillsdale Freewill Baptist College, the University of Central Arkansas, and Oklahoma Baptist University. Khalil has also served as a coach for two years at Norman North High School and four years at NYSA. This will be Khalil's third year to coach at the Striker/Keeper Camp.
Niall Ferguson Played 4 years of varsity soccer at southwestern Christian university. I coached bishop McGuinnes high school to a state final this year. I have also coached a rec team out of NOKC so part of the last season. I work for the energy FC as part of the community relations team, which sees me travel the state teaching soccer to schools and at community events. I am originally from Howwood, Scotland, and have always been around soccer.
Briana S Kuestersteffen She has played soccer for NYSA her whole competitive soccer career and won a state title with Fury 96'. Started all 4 years at Norman North under coach Don Rother and won a state championship her senior year (2013-2014). She also earned all conference and all state honors while at Norman North. She currently plays at the University of Alabama Birmingham and clocked the most minutes out of any freshman in 2014-2015. Also she has experience coaching private lessons, other NYSA soccer camps, and teams for BUSA soccer club in Alabama and is excited to get the opportunity to coach this camp!
Sofia Alvarez I have played at NYSA since I was 5 until I graduated high school in 2015. In 2013-2014, I played for Argentina's Women's National Team. In my high school career, I received accolades like Defensive Player of the Year, All-Region second and first team, and All-State. In summer of 2015, I started a small coaching career by coaching camps for NYSA and the University of Central Oklahoma, and in August of 2015, I started my college career at UCO's women's soccer team program, as well as serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Norman High Girls Women's Varsity soccer team. I am now working on getting my basic licenses to continue building my coaching career.
Michael Thomas Michael Thomas is from Aberdeen, Scotland. He played college at Southwest Christian University and studied Business administration with a concentration in management. He currently works as an accountant at Southwestern. Coach Thomas also is the assistant coach of the Men's and Women's team at SCU.
